Prachanda Steps Down as Chairman of Maoist Centre

Kathmandu – Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, coordinator of the Maoist Centre’s General Convention Organizing Committee, has announced that he is no longer the party’s chairman.

Speaking to journalists after the Central Committee meeting on Friday, Prachanda stated that he is no longer in the chairman’s position and will now serve as the coordinator of the convention organizing committee. He described the meeting as successfully concluded.

The Central Committee meeting on Friday decided to dissolve the office-bearers and committee, and also announced that a special convention will be held in Mangsir.
