Kathmandu – The first Cabinet meeting under Prime Minister Sushila Karki has approved nine major decisions, including honoring martyrs of the Gen Z protests and observing a national mourning day. Home and Law Minister Om Prakash Aryal said the meeting finalized nine decisions in total.

9 Decisions of Karqi Cabinet’s First Meeting:

Declare those who died in the Gen Z protests as martyrs.

Observe a national mourning day on Asoj 1 as a public holiday.

Conduct state funerals with national honors for the deceased.

Provide families of the deceased with NPR 1 million compensation and NPR 500,000 for other expenses per family.

Provide free treatment for the injured.

Arrange free transportation for carrying bodies, including helicopters for remote areas, and assist with cremations.

Form a high-level judicial investigation commission to examine damages and injustices during the protests and take action based on the report.

Construct the Gen Z Awakening Memorial Park in memory of martyrs.

Return proposals presented in the previous Cabinet to the respective ministries.
