Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah has expressed his full support for Monday’s ‘Gen Z’ rally. He also warned political parties, leaders, and activists not to exploit the protest for their own interests.
The rally has been announced in response to the government’s ban on unregistered social media platforms. Youths plan to stage demonstrations at Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu and major cities across the country.
In a social media post on Sunday, Shah clarified that the rally belongs to young people under the age of 28, meaning he himself cannot participate due to the age limit. However, he emphasized that listening to their demands is essential and assured his “full support.”
“Dear Gen Z, tell me, what kind of country do you want to see?” he asked, addressing the youth directly.
