Country reports 3,218 new cases of coronavirus

Kathmandu, Aug 7 : A total of 3,218 new cases of coronavirus were reported in the past 24 hours across the country, the Ministry of Health and Population said. The new cases were confirmed from altogether 13,573 sample tests.

The Ministry stated that the Kathmandu Valley reported 910 new cases of coronavirus including 593 in Kathmandu, 189 in Lalitpur and 128 in Bhaktapur district.

Likewise, a total of 1,722 people got recovered from the virus in the past 24 hours across the country. With this, the number of people enjoying recovery from the virus reached 667,270 as of August 7.

Meanwhile, the Ministry said that 19 people succumbed to the coronavirus in the past 24 hours. With this, the total deaths caused due to COVID-19 totaled 10,038.

The Ministry shared that 746 people are receiving treatment in ICU beds and 169 others are in ventilator support.

Similarly, 32,027 infected ones are in home isolation, 3,405 in institutional isolation and 443 others are in quarantine facilities. According to the Ministry, 191,339 people received vaccines against COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. (RSS)
